Holiday Itinerary

DAY 1

Our fascinating day out begins at the old market town of Ludlow, once the capital of Wales, before moving on to the old river port of Bewdley. Here we board the Severn Valley Railway for the scenic journey to Bridgnorth. There will be time to visit this hilltop town with its cliff railway before returning to Church Stretton.

DAY 2

We travel off the beaten track via Craven Arms to admire the view from Stokesay Castle. We then drive through the border country via old villages such as Clungunford and Clun which have know much more turbulent times in the past. We visit the town of Bishop’s Castle, which is famous for its old inns, returning to Church Stretton for a free afternoon.


DAY 3

First stop today is Shrewsbury with some of the finest examples of medieval architecture in the region. Then we visit the impressive Ironbridge Gorge with its bridge designed by Thomas Telford, here you will have the chance to witness life at the dawn of the Industrial Revolution at the excellent open-air museum.
